Roya & Sarah, Founders
What is today Catch; was formed by a decade long conversation between a couple of Sonoma County Mamas, through hours of brainstorming and the mutual desire to connect people authentically in a world increasingly dominated by dating apps.
After hearing frustrations from friends and family about the lack of genuine connections in Sonoma County- we knew we wanted to create something that felt real, fun, and left people with hope and excitement about being single!
The launch of Catch was finally inspired by a weekend trip to Austin, TX. Roya's friend Jess was running an event-based matchmaking platform that was getting local singles coupled up and this sparked the flame of Catch's first Sip & Switch in the summer of 2024.
Roya’s passion for understanding human behavior led her to pursue a degree in Psychology at U.C. Berkeley in the early 2000's. Over the years, she’s worked in various industries including marketing, tech, real estate, and startups—always somehow ending up in event planning departments.
Sarah’s journey into matchmaking was sparked by her deep passion for people and forging meaningful connections. As a seasoned photographer, and now certified Connection Codes Coach, she spent years capturing moments of love and connection, gaining a profound understanding of what truly makes relationships succeed. But her greatest joy comes from bringing people together. She thrives on creating memorable experiences where connections can blossom.
Through it all (and often one mistake at a time;) we've taken each step leading with authentic communication and commitment to each other. We’ve been able to shape Catch into a space where people can meet and connect in a fun, guided setting without relying on dating apps chat to meet people face to face!
When we’re not curating events or matchmaking, you’ll find us attending our kids' sports events, doing sporty/active things, or planning our own social events with family and friends. We’re excited to build a diverse community through our events and help people form meaningful relationships!
